32-yr-old shot dead in fishing dispute in Bihar's Rohtas
SASARAM, April 5 -- A scheduled caste youth was shot dead in a fishing dispute at Khaira Bhutha village under Sanjhauli police station area of Rohtas district on Friday evening. The deceased was identified as Bacha Paswan (32), police said on Saturday.
Paswan was fishing in a water body outside the village when co-villager Ravish Lal arrived and asked to stop the fishing. Lal claimed that he had taken the water body on lease and Paswan was fishing illegally.
This argument quickly escalated into a violent altercation between the duo and Paswan hurled abuses at Ravish. Enraged Ravish fired a shot with a country pistol. The bullet hit Paswan in the chest and he died on the spot, police said.
Sanjhauli SHO Punam Kumari, followed by Bikramganj SDPO Sindhu Shekhar Singh, reached the crime scene and controlled the supporters of the deceased before the body was sent to Sasaram for postmortem examination.
The SDPO said accused Ravish Lal (35) had been arrested from a wheat field where he was hiding. The pistol used in the murder, one empty and five live rounds were seized....
