As part of the initiative, 31 Class XI and XII students from different blocks of the district have been selected to shadow administrative and departmental officials for a day.
The students will observe their assigned officers at work and learn about administrative procedures, decision-making and the responsibilities associated with different posts.
The administration said the selection process was conducted through multiple transparent stages. Applications were invited from students of government and private schools and colleges between August 3 and 10 through Google Meet.
Candidates were screened on the basis of their academic performance and responses to questions posed online, followed by interviews conducted virtually by committees constituted by the district administration. The final selection of 31 students was made keeping in view their aptitude and compatibility with the respective posts.
The district administration has directed the concerned officials to provide the selected students with necessary guidance and an understanding of their respective areas of work through regular interaction and practical learning opportunities. The initiative is aimed at giving young people practical exposure to governance and encouraging them to become responsible, sensitive and capable citizens with a deeper understanding of public service and civic responsibilities....
