3-year-old rescued from 280-feet-deep borehole
GAya ji, July 18 -- District administration with the help of the NDRF and SDRF, rescued a three-year-old boy who fell into a 280-feet-deep borehole at Raghunath Nagar village under Fatehpur block area of Gaya Ji early Friday following nightlong operations, police said.
The boy's mother was busy building an embankment in the field around 7 pm on Thursday when Piyush Kumar, who was playing in the field, fell into a borehole dug for irrigation. He was trapped at a depth of approximately 30 to 35 feet, officials said. Upon receiving information, district magistrate Shashank Shubhankar ordered immediate relief and rescue operations while monitoring the situation. A medical team rushed to the scene and oxygen was supplied to the child in the borewell through a pipe.
NDRF and SDRF teams from Patna reached the location and joined the rescue work. With the help of state-of-the-art equipment, the child was safely pulled out of the borehole around 2 am on Friday, officials said.
Fatehpur BDO Shashi Bhushan Sahu said, "Piyush was in good health but terrified. He was taken to Fatehpur community health centre along with his parents. Doctors said his condition is stable and Piyush remains under continuous medical supervision."...
