3 stabbed to death in group clash
PATNA, Oct. 5 -- Three men were stabbed to death during a clash between two groups in Pachhua village, under the jurisdiction of the Ekma police station in Saran district, late Saturday night, police said.
The victims were identified as Mukesh Yadav (25), Ankur Patel alias Dhoni (22), and Ramesh Yadav (35).
A fourth person, identified as Vivek, was injured in the altercation and has been referred to the Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) for treatment.
According to villagers, a casual gathering at Udaasi Baba Mathiya turned violent when a discussion on caste dominance with local resident Vivek escalated into a brawl.
During the scuffle, Dhoni, Ramesh, Mukesh and Vivek were stabbed. Dhoni died at the scene, while while the others were taken to a private clinic in Ekma.
According to locals, anti-social elements later arrived on bikes at the nursing home and attacked those gathered there; Ramesh sustained five stab wounds to his stomach, back, and arm, while Mukesh suffered a fatal stab wound to his chest. Both later succumbed to their injuries.
Police investigations revealed that the two groups had clashed three months ago over a minor traffic dispute, though the matter was resolved through local mediation.
Officials noted that last night's fatal altercation was also linked to an ongoing struggle for dominance. Dhoni, who was killed in the incident, had been visiting his maternal home at the time....
