3 boys drown in Sone river in Bhojpur district
ARA, June 1 -- Three boys, aged between 15 and 18, drowned while bathing in Sone River near Andhari village under Chauri police station area of Bhojpur district on Sunday morning, police said.
Six friends had gone to the river to bathe when they waded into deep waters and started drowning. On hearing their cries, locals rushed to the spot and managed to rescue three of them.
Chauri SHO Rakesh Kumar Singh said, "On information, a team reached the spot and pulled out three boys and took them to Arwal Sadar Hospital where doctors declared them dead."
The bodies of Harshit Kumar, 15, Nitish Kumar, 18, and Nikhil Kumar, 16, were sent for autopsy. Meanwhile, Pankaj Kumar, 19, Prince Kumar, 14 and Santosh Kumar, 19, are being treated.
"The incident triggered a huge uproar in the area, with a large crowd gathering at the site and protestors blocking the Sahar Arwal Sone Bridge for around an hour," a local said....
