29 bihar leaders who protested outside aicc hq get show-cause
PATNA, Sept. 11 -- The Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee's (BPCC) disciplinary panel has issued show-cause notices to 29 party leaders for taking part in a sit-in outside the All India Congress Committee (AICC) headquarters in New Delhi on September 8, an action that has deepened the long-running rift in the state unit.
Kapildev Prasad Yadav, chairman of the BPCC disciplinary committee, said the leaders' participation in the protest against the state leadership violated party policy, discipline and directives and amounted to 'gross indiscipline'. The notices, made public on Thursday, give the recipients 72 hours time to submit a written explanation. Failure to respond or an unsatisfactory reply will leave the committee free to take unilateral disciplinary action under party rules.
Among those named are former MLAs Anil Singh and Poonam Devi, along with Vidhushekhar Pandey, Bharat Bhushan Dubey, Satyendra Yadav and Mrityunjay Singh. Rajesh Rathore, chairman of the BPCC media department, confirmed the notices....
