BETTIAH, May 3 -- Police in East Champaran district seized 200 litres of spirit and arrested five people, allegedly attempting to transport the spirit in Bihar, where liquor is banned, for making spurious liquor, officers said on Saturday. SP Swarn Prabhat said police intercepted an SUV in Kankati Bazaar area which was on its way to its destination from Motipur in Muzaffarpur on Friday. "When searched, ten buckets each carrying 10 litres of spirit were found in the SUV," Prabhat said, adding driver Suman Kumar and helper Vinod Rai were arrested and their car and cellphones seized at the spot. Police on Saturday said three other smugglers - Rajesh Singh, Sonu Kumar and Mohd Sagir, all from Motipur in Muzaffarpur district, were arrested in subsequent police action....
