Jamshedpur, June 26 -- Two minor girls missing for the past four months from Katigkel and Komasai villages under the Serengda police station (PS) in Goilkera Block of West Singhbhum district of Jharkhand have been safely rescued from Delhi where they were allegedly sold by human traffickers, police said on Thursday. "Both the minor girls from Katigkel and Komasai villages have been safely rescued with the help of the Delhi police from Delhi where they were sold by human traffickers who lured them on the pretext of giving lucrative jobs. They have been kept in the shelter home under the care of the Delhi child welfare committee (CWC) and we will soon bring them back to Goilkera from Delhi and hand them over to their respective families," Umesh Kumar Yadav, Serengda PS officer-in-charge (OC), told the media on Thursday. According to the police, both the minor girls were missing for the past four months. "Parents of the girl from Katigkel village lodged a missing complaint with the Serengda police recently that their daughter has been missing since March, 2026. Preliminary investigation suggested that the girl has been taken to Delhi. The information and details were shared with the Delhi police immediately and their help was sought. She was rescued with the help of the Delhi police during which it came to the fore that another minor girl has also been trafficked to Delhi and sold off. Subsequently, the girl from the Komasai village was also rescued safely," a police officer involved in the investigation said, not willing to be quoted. Meanwhile, two more minor girls were safely rescued from the Chakradharpur railway station and an alleged 33-year-old human trafficker Somnath Laguri was arrested by the Chakradharpur railway protection force (RPF) and government railway police (GRP), officials said on Thursday....
