PATNA, Feb. 15 -- Around 1.512 million examinees will appear in the matriculation examination this year beginning from February 17 which would be conducted in 1,699 examination centers across the state in two shifts each day. The matriculation examination will conclude on February 25. A press statement issued by the Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) said that female examinees this year is higher than male examinees as like last year. In total, there are 726,000 examinees while 785,000 female examinees appearing in this year's matriculation examination. In Patna district, 71,000 examinees would appear in 70 examination centres, officials said. Chairman of the BSEB Anand Kishore said that all the DMs, SPs and district education officers have been directed to conduct the matriculation examination by following the guidelines issued by the board and also ensure tight security arrangements at the examination centres. Board officials said examinees arriving late at the examination centers or trying to enter the examination premises by scaling boundary walls or through other illegal ways would be treated as an act to influence the fair conduct of examination and such examinees would be debarred from appearing in the matriculation examination for next two years apart from a FIR being lodged against them. The examinees have to appear at the examination centers well in advance as the students would be allowed to enter the examination centres one hour in advance to the commencement of the examination. There would be frisking of each examinee at two levels by officials both in the first and second half of the examination, officials said. Other guidelines for conduct of free and fair examination have been also issued by the board.
