1 teacher arrested, manhunt for other in girls videos case
PATNA/buxar, Sept. 5 -- The Buxar police on Friday arrested key accused teacher Arvind Kumar in connection with the alleged sexual exploitation of girl students in a government school under Krishnabrahma police station area in the district, police said.
The arrest came following an FIR against three, including the headmaster of the school, for sexually exploiting the girl students and circulating their alleged obscene videos online and blackmailing them. Headmaster Mohammad Imam Ali Ansari was arrested on Thursday for suppressing the matter. His name has also been withdrawn from the list of a state honour to be conferred on Teacher's Day today.
Buxar SP Shubham Arya said that the FIR was filed based on the statement of the mother of a 14-year-old girl at the Krishnabrahma police station. He added that the FIR has been registered under sections of 64(2)(f)/65(1)/77/78/75/351(2)/238/61(2)/3(5) of BNS, 6/8/10/4/12/14/15/21 of POCSO Act 2012 and 67/67(b)/67(A)/66E of IT ACT 2000.
Sub Inspector Puja Kumari of Women's police station has been given charge of the investigation.
Both the accused teachers were earlier suspended by the education department following a preliminary inquiry by the department on September 2.
Meanwhile, SHO of Brahmapur police station Brajesh Kumar Singh said that interrogation of the arrested accused had begun and the police was trying to get clues to nab the other accused.
"Raids are also underway to arrest the absconding teacher," the SHO said.
According to the FIR, the two teachers of the middle school are accused of seducing three minor girl students at different times and behaving in an objectionable manner with them. The girl's mother has alleged that Arvind Kumar had lured her daughter and took her to a hotel room where he made her objectionable videos.
According to FIR, the absconding teacher named Birendra Pal was pressurising the victim to have a physical relationship with her or he would put her videos online. When she refused, Birendra Pal put the videos of three girls, including the daughter of the complainant, said the FIR.
Police said they are trying to recover the mobile phone that, the police believes, has digital evidence in the case.
On Thursday, a police team comprising DSP Satish Kumar and DSP Rekha Sinha along with police inspector Kiran Bala met one of the girls and her family members. According to officers aware of the meeting, the statement of the girl was recorded and a medical examination of her was ordered.
Meanwhile, police officers said that one other teacher of the school was also detained to obtain more information about the accused teachers.
Earlier, the Buxar SP reached the victim's village and inquired about the incident. He spoke to the family members and assured them of proper investigation and action against the culprits. Following this, the victim's mother had lodged a complaint against the accused teachers.
Locals of the area who claimed to be aware of the affair said that obscene videos of girl students were found in the mobile phones of the two teachers. Following this, the villagers caught them and thrashed. Soon after, the headmaster Imam Ali informed the BEO that launched an investigation into the incident.
As soon as the news spread, the education department suspended the accused teachers. Later, education minister Mithilesh Tiwari ordered filing of the FIR, arest of teachers and their immediate dismissal....
