'Platform to facilitate collaborative scientific research likely soon'
Dehradun, Oct. 10 -- Uttarakhand chief secratary Anand Bardhan on Thursday announced a plan to create a structured platform to foster coordinated and consistent dialogue and collaborative research with premier scientific institutions of national importance within the state.
Bardhan was addressing an event at the Doon Library and Research Centre auditorium, where he released the poster and brochure for the sixth Dehradun International Science and Technology Festival (DISTF). The festival, organised annually by the Uttarakhand State Council for Science and Technology (UCOST), will be held at Vigyan Dham from November 12 to 14 this year.
Congratulating the organisers, Bardhan noted that the pace of change in society was being reshaped every day by advancements in science and technology. "Events such as the Dehradun International Science and Technology Festival are crucial in bridging the gap between society and science. They inspire people, particularly the younger generation, to seek knowledge and pursue careers in science and technology," he said.
Bardhan emphasised that Uttarakhand, as a Himalayan state, faced unique challenges in areas such as environment, disaster management, and sustainable development, making science and technology particularly vital for its progress.
