PATNA, Sept. 23 -- "Four lane par gadi rok ke dikha, koi goli thok ke dikha (by firing a bullet, show that someone is on the forelane road and there is no obstruction)'. This is one of the mischievous and boastful contents of one of the reels of Nandan Yadav, a history-sheeter and mischievous man, posted on Bhojpuri songs in social media to directly challenge the police, a few days back, according to police officers investigating the Jamui harassment case. On Tuesday morning, Yadav, one of the main accused in the Jamui incident of harassment and molestation of two school students , a boy and a girl, was truly 'hit' by the Jamui police sustaining bullet injuries in a police shootout when he tried to flee from his hideout. Today, media reports showed, Nandan Yadav, his face still covered, with his arms slung across the shoulders of security personnel, being rushed to a hospital after the encounter with police. Now, after photos of him being shot in the leg during the encounter and left helpless in the sadar hospital came to light, internet users are commenting on the same reel. Some netizens commented-'Have you seen the result of the misbehave with minor, the police really gave him a proper treatment.' Incidentally, Yadav's another associate involved in the horrific incident, Hareram Yadav, also suffered a leg fracture and is a history sheeter like Nandan. Both are on bail having had cases in illegal sand mining and petty crime. Nandan , police said, is also involved in liquor smuggling and running syndicates at the local level. Professionally a tractor driver, police sources said, Nandan in his early twenties has a habit of arrogance in the area and rudeness towards passersby, and has been involved in a gang of local sand syndicates.His native village is Pratapur village near Jamui town. According to local residents, numerous videos of Nandan drinking alcohol have also been uploaded on Instagram. Nandan has been active on social media posting reels , some having objectionable contents too, police said. Hareram Yadav too has a criminal record and close friend of the Nandan Yadav. They have had association for last many years and were both involved in the incident together on 19 September in the harassment of the teens. Police said 20-year-old Hareram is also involved in the illegal sand mining business and loves to portray himself as a local strongman though his political affiliations are still being verified. Before this, Hareram had already committed criminal activities involving gambling. Preliminary investigation revealed that both Hareram and Nandan have been involved in illegal sand mining and transportation from Kiul River, which is close to Jamui. Jamui SP Viswajeet Dayal told HT Hareram has a accused in illegal sand minning case and now he is in bail while Nandan is also on regular bail. "Both the residents of Pratappur village under Sadar police station area. Both are tractor drivers and used to work hauling sand," he added. In the purported video of the molestation and assault, there are distrubing clips of how Nandan Yadav is grabbing the girl by her neck, spinning her around and groping her at some distance. The girl is seen pleading with the miscreants to leave them even as Nandan Yadav continues to run with her, the video showed. There are other footages of boy running around and trying to separate the girl from Yadav, who is seen groping the girl. In the video, the school students were confronted by the group and first lectured on why they were venturing together, trying to enforce 'moral policing'. Both are students of Class 10 and had been returning from their coaching classes when the group approached them.The natural area of Madhwa Mountain, where people come to wander around in the evening, take photographs and make reels, Nandan and his companions often wandered around there.
