NAVI MUMBAI, Aug. 28 -- A woman who was found dead in a ravine at Tamhini Ghat was allegedly strangled by her boyfriend, who had taken her there on the pretext of an outing, Raigad police said. The boyfriend allegedly suspected her of having an affair and, with the help of a friend, killed her and dumped her body along the Pune-Mangaon road. Police arrested Durgaprasad Mangalprasad Prajapati, 24, and his friend Dineshkumar Bisram Prajapati, 27, from Pimpri-Chinchwad. The victim, Suman Gopal Yadav, was a resident of Chikhali in Pune district, as are the two accused. Both accused are originally from Uttar Pradesh. Yadav's body was found around 12.35pm on August 25 near Kondethar village in Tamhini Ghat. As she was unidentified, Mangaon police initially registered an accidental death report. The post-mortem examination later revealed that she had been strangled. Police then registered a murder case under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Police identified Yadav through technical evidence. Their investigation led them to the two accused in Pimpri-Chinchwad. Durgaprasad had suspected Yadav of having an affair. He allegedly took her to Tamhini Ghat with Dineshkumar, under the guise of an outing, and the two then strangled her and dumped her body....
