Mumbai, Aug. 14 -- A major leak was detected in the 3,000-mm-diameter Mumbai-III water pipeline near Teen Hath Naka in Thane, close to the Eastern Express Highway, on Thursday, prompting the BMC to launch emergency repair work that could affect water supply to parts of Mumbai. The pipeline, located around 3-4 metres underground near the Eastern Express Highway, has an outer protective casing, making access to the damaged section challenging.
