CHENNAI, July 11 -- Tamil Nadu chief minister Vijay on Friday distributed government job appointment orders to the families of those killed in the stampede during a TVK rally in Karur last September, hours after the Madras High Court allowed the state government to proceed with the same even as it made it clear that the appointments would remain temporary and subject to judicial review. Vijay also announced a proposed memorial for the victims during the visit, which marked his first foray into the constituency after he assumed office. Forty one people had died in the stampede.
