Two more held in TET 2026 paper leak case
Thane, July 10 -- The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the Maharashtra TET 2026 paper leak on Wednesday arrested two more accused, taking the total number of arrests in the case to 12. The prime accused, Bijender Gupta, remains absconding.
The accused, identified as Pawan Yadav of Delhi and Hariom Paan of Haryana, were produced before a Bhiwandi court, which remanded them to police custody till July 13.
According to the police, the duo was traced through an analysis of financial transactions and logistical links connected to the previously arrested accused. Investigators tracked them down in Delhi and Haryana, arrested them after questioning, and brought them to Mumbai for further investigation.
Public prosecutor Sumit Jadhav told the court that custodial interrogation was necessary to establish their roles in the racket. "The investigation has revealed multiple financial transactions between Pawan Yadav and the absconding accused Bijender Gupta, Suman Gupta, Kapil Dahiya and other co-accused," Jadhav said.
Assistant commissioner of police Vijay Marathe of Bhiwandi said Pawan Yadav had been in contact with Dheeraj and Kapil Dahiya for a long time, while Hariom Paan had booked their flight tickets from Delhi to Mumbai.
"We are examining the financial trail to ascertain the exact role of each accused in the racket," Marathe said....
