Washington, Oct. 17 -- The US government has scrapped the automatic extension of employment authorisation documents, potentially affecting foreign professionals, including spouses of H-1B visa holders, whose renewal applications remain pending. The US Citizenship and Immigration Services codified the final rule on Wednesday, following an interim rule issued in October last year. The rollback affects several categories, including H-4 spouses, asylum applicants, refugees and adjustment-of-status applicants.
