CHENNAI, Aug. 29 -- Tamil Nadu chief minister C Joseph Vijay on Friday inspected the Puzhal Central Prison in North Chennai. Established in 2006 at an outlay of Rs.77 crore, it consists of three jail complexes with a capacity to accommodate 3,000 prisoners. "The chief minister inspected the isolation ward, visitor's room, de-addiction rehabilitation centre, library, advanced computer training centre, execution area," the government said in a statement. Vijay visited the inmates' workshops and reviewed products made there-including iron vegetable racks, paper bags, and office file boards-as well as blankets made in the power-loom unit and the tailoring section. He also checked the quality of food served to the prisoners and asked them about their requirements....
