TET cancelled after paper leak, new date to be announced; 3 arrested in Bhiwandi
MUMBAI, June 28 -- Even as the nation was grappling with the fallout of the NEET paper leak, the Maharashtra State Examination Council (MSEC) on Saturday cancelled the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET), scheduled to be conducted on Sunday, after it emerged that four sets of the question paper were allegedly leaked. Three individuals were arrested in Bhiwandi, Thane district, linked to the leak on Saturday. The accused - two from Bihar and one from Haryana - were nabbed from Kongaon village, five kilometers from Bhiwandi city. Police recovered four sets of TET-2026 question paper from the accused. Officials from the education department confirmed that they were copies of the question paper meant for the exam, said police.
While school education minister Dada Bhuse confirmed that a fresh date for the exam will be announced after due diligence, the deferral has caused anxiety among over six lakh candidates, including teachers, who had registered for this year's TET.P3...
