MUMBAI, July 26 -- The Shiv Sena (UBT) and MNS will hold a victory rally at Shivaji Park on Sunday, to celebrate the young people whose nation-wide protests led to the resignation of Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Saturday. The parties had earlier announced a 'Tiranga March', a protest march from Shivaji Park to Siddhivinayak Temple. However, following Pradhan's resignation, a pivotal demand of Abhijeet Dipke's Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) leading the student protests in New Delhi, the Thackerays will instead hold a victory rally on Swatantrya Veer Savarkar Marg, starting at 10:00am. It will be supported by Congress and NCP (SP). "The youth have destroyed the perception that the BJP is invincible," said Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray, who addressed the media along with MNS chief Raj Thackeray. "This agitation has shown the hooliganism of the BJP. Who will complain against these police officers? Union home minister Amit Shah must state whether or not the FIRs registered against students will be taken back," he said. "Since the last few days, the country has been restless, and we know why. I want to congratulate (Abhijeet) Dipke, youngsters and their parents. This wasn't just about the resignation. The government has been putting the country under pressure. A 'cockroach' has made a dictator bow down," added Uddhav. Raj Thackeray said, "Public rage has gone beyond Dharmendra Pradhan to the pradhan mantri. We will support whatever decision Abhijit Dipke takes.'' The Sena (UBT) chief also thanked activist Sonam Wangchuk, whose hunger strike, a part of the CJP's agitation, had put considerable pressure on the BJP-led NDA government.
