THANE, Sept. 22 -- Police Sub-Inspector Vijay Shankar Sangade, 57, who was serving as a VVIP escort in the convoy of deputy chief minister Eknath Shinde, passed away following a sudden cardiac arrest on Monday morning. Sangade was posted as a police sub-inspector in the Kalyan Control Room and was currently deployed on security duty with Shinde's escort team. On Monday, Sangade was at the Government Rest House in Thane when he suddenly suffered a heart attack around 8.30 am and was immediately rushed to Jai Anand Hospital where he was declared dead upon arrival, said Yogesh Awhad, senior inspector at Naupada police station.
