Mumbai, Aug. 19 -- The rupee declined to a nearly three-week low on Tuesday as oil prices climbed past $90 per barrel after the US-Iran interim ceasefire lapsed, while likely intervention by the RBI contained losses. The rupee was largely muted post the opening decline and was last at 95.6750 per dollar, down 0.1% from its closing level in the previous session.
Indian share benchmarks also extended their losing streak. The Nifty 50 fell 0.55% to 24,154.9 and the BSE Sensex lost 0.63% to 77,235.46. This was Nifty's sixth straight losing session, while the Sensex has fallen in five of the last six sessions.P12...
