Mumbai, Oct. 9 -- Maharashtra has pushed back the first of its two Common Entrance Test (CET) attempts for engineering and pharmacy courses, deciding that both exams will now be held after the Class 12 board examinations. The change follows feedback from parents, counsellors and educationists, who raised concerns over the earlier schedule that had placed the first attempt in December 2026 and the second in April 2027. Both attempts will now be conducted between March and May. The two-attempt format was introduced to bring the CET in line with national-level examinations such as the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE), while reducing academic stress by giving students a second chance to improve scores.
