Mumbai, Sept. 17 -- After holding firm for nearly a week, the state government on Wednesday softened its stance and sent a draft proposal to Maratha quota activist Manoj Jarange-Patil, who was on the 19th day of his hunger strike. It also urged him to cancel his plans to enter Mumbai on September 18, citing possible disruption to Ganesh festivities. Jarange, however, remained determined to reach Mumbai.
