Mumbai, Sept. 17 -- After holding firm for nearly a week, the state government on Wednesday softened its stance and sent a draft proposal to Maratha quota activist Manoj Jarange-Patil, who was on the 19th day of his hunger strike. It also urged him to cancel his plans to enter Mumbai on September 18, citing possible disruption to Ganesh festivities.
