Mumbai, March 11 -- A 30-year-old woman died after a tempo rammed the entrance of a hospital in Dahisar East, striking her while she sat on the steps on Tuesday evening. According to the police, the deceased, Shilpa Baliram Pokharkar, is a Dahisar resident. She lived next door to her younger sister, Ashwini Sadashiv Bachche, 29, who is also the complainant and an eyewitness to the incident. Bachche told police the accident occurred around 6:40 pm near Dr. Shyam R. Choubey's hospital, close to their residence. Pokharkar was sitting on the hospital steps waiting for her seven-year-old son when a tempo, allegedly speeding, crashed into the hospital's shutter and struck her. "The impact left Pokharkar severely injured. She sustained serious injuries below the waist. The tempo driver allegedly got out of the vehicle and fled," said a police officer, adding that locals rushed her to Shatabdi Hospital, where she was declared dead. Based on Bachche's complaint, the Dahisar police registered a case of causing death by negligence under Section 106 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Two young men were killed and another seriously injured after the motorcycle they were triple-riding lost control, rammed into another two-wheeler before crashing into a tree on the Eastern Express Highway near Vikhroli on Tuesday afternoon. According to the police, the accident occurred around 3 pm on the highway's northbound lane. The motorcycle's rider allegedly lost control of the vehicle. The complainant, Amit Pawar, 40, a Jogeshwari resident, told the police he was heading to work when the speeding motorcycle came from behind, hit his bike and then crashed into a tree. Two of three people who were triple-riding were killed, and the third person is in a critical condition, the police said....
