Seventeen Nigerian nationals found without valid visas in Dombivli
THANET, May 24 -- he police on Saturday apprehended 24 Nigerian nationals, including seven women and four children, during a combing operation in the Khoni-Palava area. Police said 17 of them were residing in India without valid visas.
Police officers said the operation was launched after they received information about foreign nationals allegedly staying in rented apartments in the locality. Investigators had also received information that a Nigerian national wanted by the Navi Mumbai police was residing in the area.
In recent years, several drug-related offences have been registered in Dombivli, with police taking action against multiple peddlers. The police carried out a search operation across the Khoni-Palava belt on Saturday morning and detained 24 Nigerian nationals. Only seven of those detained possessed valid passports and visas.
