Mumbai, Sept. 8 -- The iconic Gaiety-Galaxy cinema complex in Bandra was forced to stop screening films from Monday after police found that its entertainment licence had not been renewed since 2021.
The Bandra police issued a notice to the theatre on Sunday. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Bandra) Mohit Garg said the management had failed to renew the licence for several years. According to officials, the theatre also had technical issues, including burnt electrical cables, which could pose a safety risk to moviegoers.
