No tobacco stalls in edu campuses: CM
MUMBAI, Aug. 20 -- Preventing the youth from getting addicted to tobacco is far more effective than taking corrective measures, said chief minister Devendra Fadnavis, who has directed every school and college campus to be free of tobacco stalls and unauthorised kiosks. He said principals and headmasters must declare their campuses drug-free.
In a review meeting of the Drug-Free Maharashtra initiative on Wednesday, the chief minister said efforts should focus on preventing the factors that push young people towards substance abuse. Directing that de-addiction centres be established in every government hospital to help young people trapped in addiction, Fadnavis said they must be made operational in all government medical colleges.
