No respite from humidity: IMD forecast
MUMBAI:, May 26 -- Even as Mumbai continued to reel under hot and humid weather on Monday, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast partly cloudy skies with elevated humidity over the next 48 hours. Temperatures are expected to hover around a maximum of 35degC and a minimum of 28degC.
On Monday, Santacruz recorded a maximum temperature of 35.1degC, 1.2degC above normal, while Colaba recorded 34.7degC, 0.3degC above normal. Minimum temperatures were 29.7degC in Santacruz and 28degC in Colaba.
Humidity remained elevated throughout the day. Colaba recorded 91% relative humidity at 8.30 am, dropping to 70% by evening, while Santacruz reported 74% in the morning and 64% at 5:30pm.
The city also continued to receive sporadic, light pre-monsoon rain. Colaba recorded 0.6 mm of rainfall in the 24 hours ending 8:30 am on Monday, while Santacruz reported none....
