India, May 4 -- The Election Commission on Sunday said security was stepped up across five states and UT where election results will be declared, to ensure the counting process is conducted in a fair and transparent manner. The commission added that it has also deployed adequate number of poll officials to facilitate smooth tallying. Before counting starts, the strong rooms, where the EVMs and voter verifiable paper audit trail (VVPATs) are stored, will be opened in the presence of candidates, representatives of political parties and ECI officials.P7...
