MUMBAI, March 5 -- A sessions court on Thursday has denied bail to a 32-year-old man accused of carrying out a contract killing at a Worli spa in 2024, saying the evidence against him was strong and his role more serious than that of a co-accused who was granted relief. The accused, Mohammad Feroze Ismuddin Ansari, is alleged to have murdered Gurusidh Waghmare at Soft Touch Massage Parlour and Spa on July 24, 2024. Police claim Waghmare was stabbed at least 24 times with a sharp weapon. They said Waghmare had repeatedly complained against spas allegedly involved in prostitution and feared for his life. Police claimed he maintained a diary noting threats to his life and had tattooed names of persons he suspected on his body. The probe further revealed that Ansari and others accepted Rs.12lakh from the spa owner, Satosh, to kill him and lured Waghmare to the premises before the attack. Ansari sought bail claiming false implication and invoked parity, citing that co-accused Saqib Sarfaraz Ansari had been granted bail by the Bombay High Court.
