mercury touches 51.3degC in delhi, as mumbai proper monsoon
New Delhi/ mumbai, June 28 -- While Delhi clocked a heat index or "real feel" temperature of 51.3degC and a peak wet-bulb temperature of 29.77degC on Saturday, after the monsoon showers early this week, sunny skies have largely returned to Mumbai, with light showers in some parts on Saturday.
Dismissing concerns that the monsoon has retreated, IMD Mumbai deputy director-general Bikram Singh said: "The heavy showers Mumbai experienced during the onset were due to an active spell of the South-West monsoon. The cloud bands responsible for those rains have shifted northwards as the monsoon has advanced further across the country, leading to a temporary lull over the city."htc...
