Maskar edges past Jadhav by 0.1 points to lift Lakshya Cup
Mumbai, Feb. 23 -- Sonam Maskar of Maharashtra won the 16th RR Lakshya Cup with a final score of 251.5, edging out defending champion Kiran Jadhav by a close 0.1 margin in the final of the rifle shooting meet at Lakshya Shooting Club in Panvel.
Jadhav, representing Navy, finished second with a score of 251.4, while Isha Taksale of Maharashtra secured third position with 230.0.
"When the margin is 0.1, you know every single shot mattered. Kiran is a tough competitor and the defending champion, so I knew I had to stay completely focused till the last shot," Maskar said.
In the junior event, Gujarat's Viddhi Godhani claimed the top position with a score of 250.1.
Shubham Pandey picked up a seven-wicket haul as Young Maharashtra CC beat Shivaji Park Gymkhana by two wickets in their Young Comrade Shield match on Sunday.
In another match, Dhrumil Matkar scored an unbeaten 50 and took two wickets to help Cricket Club of India defeat National Cricket Club by four wickets chasing a challenging target of 340.
Centuries by Hardik Tamore and Sairaj Patil went in vain for National CC.
