Marine Drive widening plans stalled for now
Mumbai, June 5 -- The plan to widen Marine Drive from six lanes to 12 has been put on hold by the MMRDA, for now.
State authorities first want to study traffic patterns once the Orange Gate-Marine Drive twin tunnels are ready, and then decide on the number of lanes to be added, according to officials. The twin-tunnel project, which will link the Eastern Freeway with the Mumbai Coastal Road, is scheduled for completion in June 2028.
