New Delhi, Aug. 28 -- Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge on Thursday wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeking an all-party meeting on delimitation, cautioning the government against any attempt to "bulldoze" the exercise, a day after Union parliamentary affairs minister Kiren Rijiju indicated in an interview that a special Parliament session could be convened. "I am writing now to reiterate this request since the Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs has publicly stated in a television interview last night that such a special session of Parliament could well be convened. This perhaps explains the continued delay in the prorogation of the Monsoon Session itself," Kharge wrote in the letter. Kharge, who also holds charge as the Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha, said he first raised the matter on July 16, when he asked the prime minister to convene an all-party meeting on the government's delimitation proposals and give parties adequate time to examine them before any special session is called.
