Jilted boyfriend tipped off authorities; 6 held
MUMBAI, Aug. 27 -- The crime branch has arrested six individuals -- including a Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) undersecretary and two junior officers -- for leaking the March 22 exam paper for the post of drug inspector (Group B).
The matter came to light when one of the accused, Gaurav Patil, tipped off MPSC after he was spurned by his girlfriend Rutuja, who had shared the leaked question paper with him and broken up with him after she aced the exam. The commission alerted the police, resulting in a criminal case being filed. While Patil did not take the exam, his brother did. Rutuja's father, Amrut Namdeo Patil, a school teacher who had secured the paper for his daughter, is also among those arrested.
