Mumbai, April 3 -- Jay Pawar, the younger son of NCP chief Sunetra Pawar, has been inducted into the 'apex committee' of the party, marking his formal entry into politics. "Jay Pawar is a young leader and he will be given some responsibility as he is now part of the apex committee, our top decision-making body," said NCP's chief spokesperson Anand Paranjpe. Jay was named as a member of the apex committee in a letter sent by party president and deputy chief minister Sunetra Pawar to the Election Commission of India on March 10, he added. The letter also informed the ECI about Sunetra Pawar taking reins of the party following her husband Ajit Pawar's death in an air crash on January 28, and gave details about the other top office-bearers.
