India Post Q1 revenue rises to Rs.4,009 cr
New Delhi, July 15 -- India Post recorded revenue of Rs.4,009 crore in the first quarter of FY27, its highest-ever first-quarter revenue and a 22% increase from the corresponding period last year which was at Rs.3,280 crore, the communications ministry said on Tuesday. The department achieved 81% of its Q1 revenue target of Rs.4,951 crore. It has set an annual revenue target of Rs.19,803 crore for FY27.
The performance was reviewed at the department of posts' quarterly business review meeting at Vigyan Bhawan, chaired by communications minister Jyotiraditya Scindia and attended by minister of state Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani and heads of postal circles.
"This is the first time in India Post history that we are growing by double digits. General range of growth trends at India Post have been in the range of 1 to 2.5% per annum. Last year, we grew by close to about 20%," said Scindia at a press conference Tuesday, adding that it's generally in Q4 when India Post hits over Rs.4,000 crore but Q1 results for FY27 have been unprecedented. Among India Post's six business verticals, Citizen Centric Services recorded the highest year-on-year growth at 86%, followed by parcels at 50%, mails at 42%, International Relations and Global Business (IR&GB)at 34%, Postal Life Insurance (PLI) and Rural Postal Life Insurance (RPLI) at 20%, and Post Office Savings Bank (POSB) at 10%....
