guard killed after dispute over woman
Mumbai, May 11 -- A private security guard was killed in Wadala on Saturday allegedly by a man who was offended by the guard speaking to his female acquaintance. The guard, Ashukumar, was attacked at the construction site in Wadala where he was working, while the accused, identified as Abhishek Kumar Singh, is absconding, police officers familiar with the matter told Hindustan Times.
"The accused was reportedly fond of the woman and her calls to the guard triggered the fight," said an officer from Matunga police station, where a first information report was registered based on a complaint from another private security guard, Sarveshkumar Singh.
According to the complaint, Sarveshkumar Singh, who works as a security guard in Tulsiwadi, was dining with a colleague at Mumbai Central on Saturday night when he received a phone call from an acquaintance.
The caller informed him that Abhishek Kumar had allegedly assaulted and killed Ashukumar. Sarveshkumar rushed to the spot and found Ashukumar lying at the construction site, with an iron rod beside him.
The injured Ashukumar was rushed to a hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead.
"We have booked Abhishek Kumar for murder and are currently searching for him," said the officer quoted earlier....
