Four police aspirants held with syringes
Navi Mumbai, March 11 -- Four candidates appearing for the Navi Mumbai police constable recruitment examination were booked on Monday after they were allegedly found carrying injection syringes.
The accused allegedly attempted to use performance-enhancing substances during their physical test, police said.
The accused, identified as, Akash Pansare, 29, Suyog Hole, 21, Sunil Kaduskar, 26, and Sanket Dongre, 30, were found with BD U40 insulin syringes with needles during a personal search conducted by officials supervising the recruitment process.
"The police recruitment process is underway across the state...The candidates possessed injections, we have served them with notices and further investigation is underway," a police officer said.
Based on a complaint by constable Govinda Zalte, Kalamboli police police registered a case under provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940....
