India, Oct. 20 -- What happened: Two motorcycle-borne assailants allegedly opened fire outside Bollywood actor Disha Patani's family home in Bareilly in the early hours of September 12, 2025. The investigation also examined a reported firing incident near the house on the previous day. Who was behind it: Gangsters Goldy Brar and Rohit Godara associated with Lawrance Bishnoi gang were directly linked to the attack after associates claimed responsibility on social media. Police investigated the alleged gang network and its role in planning and executing the shooting. Alleged motive: The gang's social media statements referred to remarks by Disha's sister, Khushboo Patani, concerning religious storytellers Aniruddhacharya and Premanand Maharaj.
