Drunk biker dies after crashing into pole on sclr
Mumbai, March 13 -- A 30-year-old man allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol died after crashing his motorcycle into an electric pole on the Santacruz-Chembur Link Road (SCLR) early Thursday, police said.
The deceased, Akash Angre, a Chembur resident, was returning home from a birthday party in Kurla when he allegedly lost control of his bike and hit a pole on the divider on the northbound lane around 12.30 am. Police said Angre was returning home when he lost control of his two-wheeler and rammed into a pole on the divider on the northbound lane of the SCLR around 12.30 am.
According to police, Angre had attended the party with his friend Harshad Kharat, who later informed Angre's brother that they had consumed alcohol at the gathering.
Angre sustained severe facial injuries in the crash and died on the spot, police said.
The Nehru Nagar police have registered a case against Angre under Section 106 (causing death by negligence) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita....
