distressed govt driver dies by suicide at csmia
MUMBAI, Aug. 21 -- A 54-year-old government driver died by suicide at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) on Thursday morning, with police saying he had been distressed over his health for the past six months. The Worli resident was stationed at the airport to ferry government officials, allegedly jumped from the P10 level to P4 around 11.30am.
The man had reported for duty at around 8.30am on Thursday. According to Sahar police, he was suffering from stage 2 chronic kidney disease (CKD) and had reportedly been depressed over his health.
Police recovered a note written in Marathi and addressed to his wife and daughter. The note reportedly said that no one was responsible for his decision and that he was tired of taking medication without seeing an improvement in his condition.
Senior inspector Manoj Chalke said police registered an accidental death report (ADR) based on the note. htc...
