MUMBAI, Sept. 6 -- A 19-year-old delivery executive, Shubham Prajapati, died after a speeding Land Rover Defender hit his rented electric scooter from behind at Bandra Reclamation on Friday night. When citizens alerted the local police about the incident, a constable rushed to the spot to find Prajapati lying in a pool of blood. He had suffered severe head injuries from the impact, and was pronounced dead upon arrival at Bhabha Hospital at 12:30 am. Police arrested the driver of the car, 28-year-old Yuvaraj Rajkumar Baheti, who did not flee the spot. A resident of Piramal Mahalaxmi, he was headed towards S V Road to meet a friend and was allegedly driving carelessly. He was given bail by a magistrate court on Saturday.
