Couple, dog assaulted after trying to stop roadside fight
Navi Mumbai, March 11 -- A couple was allegedly assaulted by two men in Kharghar after they tried to intervene in a roadside altercation, leaving the woman with a dislocated thumb.
According to the police, the incident took place around 8.30 pm on March 6 near Radcliffe School in Sector 8. The complainant and her husband were walking their dog when they noticed two men on a scooter arguing with the occupants of a car. "When the couple stepped in and asked them to stop fighting, the situation escalated. The accused allegedly turned aggressive and attacked the husband," the investigating officer said, adding that they also assaulted the dog.
When the woman tried to intervene, one of the accused allegedly struck her hand with a stone, dislocating a bone in her right thumb, he added. The accused have been identified and issued notices, police said....
