Mumbai, Sept. 14 -- Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Sunday ordered a forensic audit of all MHT-CET examination centres against which complaints have been received and directed the police to register FIRs and investigate the allegations through the Joint Commissioner of Police. He also ordered a forensic audit into the alleged MHT-CET data leak. He issued the directions after a delegation of teachers and students met him in Mumbai on Sunday evening and raised concerns over alleged irregularities in the conduct of the examination. "All examination centres against which complaints have been received will undergo a forensic audit," Fadnavis said. The directions have been issued to Mumbai Police Commissioner Deven Bharti with immediate effect. The action follows a series of allegations surrounding the state-level entrance examination. In July, videos circulated on social media questioning the credibility of MHT-CET results and the provisional engineering merit list. The videos compared Class 12 Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics marks with MHT-CET and JEE scores and alleged that some students with relatively low Class 12 scores had secured 99 or even 100 percentile in MHT-CET. One video also featured an audio clip alleging that candidates could obtain higher scores by paying money and selecting specific examination centres. The state CET Cell had subsequently approached the Azad Maidan police and state cyber police. In September, NCP (SP) MLA Rohit Pawar alleged that data of around 450,000 students had been leaked from the CET Cell and was in the possession of agents.
