Citizens are not slaves: HC quashes leader's externment
MUMBAI, July 3 -- Holding that people cannot be externed from the city just for protesting against the central government's policies, the Bombay high court on Thursday quashed the externment of Social Democratic Party of India state general secretary Saeed Ahmad Chaudhary.
"How can such (anti-government) slogans become a ground for externment," the court asked the government. A single-judge bench of Justice Jamdar remarked, "Citizens cannot be made slaves of the central government. Police are not servants of the CM or the PM. They are public servants."P4...
