Chand enters world univ squash final
Mumbai, Aug. 6 -- India's Suraj Kumar Chand staged a brilliant comeback from two games down to enter the individual final of the 2026 FISU World University Championship Squash, being held at the Somaiya Vidyavihar University, on Wednesday.
Asian Games-bound Chand was two games down against Joshua Jacques-Phinera of France in the semi-final before the Indian turned it around in style, winning 9-11, 10-12, 11-5, 11-2, 12-10.
Chand, who studied in Somaiya, will take on Benedek Takacs in the title clash on Thursday. Takacs beat India's Om Semwal 11-5, 11-4, 12-10 in the other semi-final.
India's women signed off from the individual competition on a positive note, with Shameena Riaz and Pooja Arthi Raghu winning their 9th-16th place classification matches....
