Biker, 23, killed after crashing into truck
NAVI MUMBAI, May 19 -- A motorcyclist was killed after his bike rammed into a container truck allegedly parked dangerously near a curve without any warning signs. The incident took place near Barbai Bridge in Panvel taluka on Saturday morning.
The deceased, Akash Dadu Pawar (23), was a resident of Nadal village in Khalapur taluka of Raigad district. According to the police, the accident took place around 10am on May 17 on the road near Barbai Bridge at Barward village in Raigad district.
Police said the container truck was allegedly parked negligently along a curve on the roadside without indicators, reflectors or any cautionary signage. Pawar, who was riding a motorcycle, crashed into the rear of the stationary vehicle.
He sustained grievous injuries in the collision and died on the spot, police said.
The accused truck driver, identified as Indreshkumar Laldhar, 46, has been booked by the Panvel Taluka police.
Based on a complaint lodged by the victim's relative, Dadu Pandu Pawar, 35, police registered an FIR under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita and Motor Vehicles Act....
