PUNE, Sept. 4 -- The Pune police on Thursday arrested activist and influencer Santosh Pandit from his residence for allegedly posting videos containing obscene, defamatory, and objectionable remarks targeting Maharashtra higher education minister Chandrakant Patil, CM Devendra Fadnavis, and a female corporator. Following a complaint by Sarika Kamble regarding multiple YouTube videos, one of which amassed over 12.16 lakh views, an FIR was registered at Kothrud police station. Pandit was remanded to custody until September 8 under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Information Technology Act. Known for highlighting local civic issues like potholes, Pandit previously faced similar legal action at Deccan police station.
